New Moon Ritual

So, that already sounds pretty woo-woo, right? Before we move on to the new moon ritual, I'd like to share the following with you: I truly see it as my mission to approach life from the body, mind & soul connection to make it as practical as possible. To everything hands-on so that it directly benefits you.

In living with the moon, you can also work with extreme detail, as each day has a different moon phase, and you also have personal moons in a different “house.”.

I like to keep it simple. I actually always work with 4 different phases:

New Moon (including New Moon ritual)
First quarter
3) Full Moon (including full moon ritual)
Last quarter.

The different phases of the moon have different energies. In the Slow Down Journal, I provide different examples per moon phase of activities you could undertake.

In this post, I'm sharing my New Moon Ritual with you, including a very practical visualization you could do.

Why would you perform this New Moon Ritual?

The New Moon is a perfect time to set your intentions, to visualize where you want to go.
You don't necessarily visualize for that “month,” but usually for a period of about 6 months. So you're really thinking long-term.
It's always good to pause once in a while and think about what you want to achieve.

New Moon Ritual Step-by-Step Plan

As the word suggests: A ritual does call for some peace and quiet. You don't have to light incense (but you can ;-), but make sure you're in a place where you won't be disturbed.

Make sure you have pen and paper handy. I'm using the Moon Intentions booklet by Lexmond & Lexmond, but you can also write it in the back of the Slow Down journal or any other notebook.

3) Below you will find the meditation you can do (14 minutes). Preferably with earplugs in. Read through step 5 first so you can calmly do the meditation afterwards. I use the following themes in the meditation:

+ Health & Self-care
+ Social & Relationships
+ Work & Impact
Authenticity & Personal Growth

P.S. I might go through the visualization quite quickly, feel free to pause or re-visualize it later when you're writing it down after the meditation.

4) After your meditation, use your notebook to write down some things/goals/wishes/dreams that came to you during your meditation. You don't have to write everything down, for example, write down the 3 things that stayed with you the most.

5) Tip: This month's moon, March 2021, is in Pisces This means the following focus:

  • Fishing is a sign for dreams
  • Use your imagination to think about what you dream of
  • Surrender – trust the universe

I didn't specifically make the meditation for this moon, but you can always keep these kinds of things in mind when you write down your intentions.

Enjoy! Enjoy all that you already have. See if you can feel your intentions as if you have already achieved them. Remember:

You will get there.
But right now you are here
And here is wonderful
